Protective clothing against electric arcs
You can get BP® Multi Protect Plus in both arc protection classes (APC):
- Arc Protection Class APC 1: A variety of risks – the world of BP® Multi Protect Plus! At 245 g/m², it’s particularly lightweight and comfortable and this along with its high degree of mechanical durability makes the collection perfect for employees who temporarily face a variety of risks while they work.
- Arc protection class APC 2: The collection offers the full safety of arc protection class 2 in the potentially vulnerable zones and is very lightweight even in two-layer areas with 490 g/m² (245 + 245 g/m²) or 510 g/m² (245 + 265 g/m²).
Noticeable lightness!
One of the wearers' requirements is lightweight fabric, as the workplaces where multinorm protective clothing must be worn are often very warm. Other reasons for wanting lightweight fabric are that the activities themselves are sweaty and, when working outdoors, employees are exposed to high temperatures, especially in summer.
The desired lightness is a difficult balancing act, especially because the rule of thumb used to be that the thicker the fabric, the better it protected. In times of high-tech fibres, however, this old certainty is outdated. BP relies on a new type of fabric mix that is robust, but at the same time very light and comfortable to wear.
This is expressed in a very low grammage of only 245 g/m² with arc protection of protection class 1 (4kA). This weight differs only slightly from that of some workwear. In protection class 2 (7ka), only the vulnerable areas in the front of the jacket and trousers have a 2-layer finish. The rest, however, also manages with one fabric layer.
The result: the overall wearing sensation is as airy and light as never before experienced with highly complex protective clothing.
